Excessive Force or Nah? Texas Officer Placed On Leave After Disturbing Pool Party Video [WATCH]
Is this a case of excessive force?
A Texas police officer named Eric Casebolt is under the spotlight, after a disturbing video circulated over the weekend. Casebolt has been placed on administrative leave. Here’s what reportedly happened.
Over the weekend, officers (including Casebolt) were called because several young people were at a neighborhood pool without permission and refused to leave. The incident took place outside Craig Ranch North Community Pool.
In the clip that went viral, some argue that Casebolt appears to use excessive force when he threw a 15-year-old girl (named Dajerria Becton) wearing a bathing suit, to the ground. He also drew his weapon and used profanity.
Dajerria told KDFW:
[The officer] grabbed me, twisted my arm on my back and shoved me in the grass and started pulling the back of my braids. I was telling him to get off me because my back was hurting bad.
Take a look at the clip below.
