Slandering An Ex-Nanny on Instagram Cost The Game $200K
Before you use social media to vent your frustrations, you MAY want to think again. Reading someone for filth, or airing someone out on public forums can and will cost you. Just ask The Game (real name Jayceon Taylor).
The 35-year-old is being forced to cough up some serious cash to his former nanny. According to CBS, a Los Angeles judge ordered the rapper/reality star to pay his former nanny a little over $200K ($200,627 to be exact) for an Instagram post that he shared, defaming her in a rant.
Reportedly, this may be the first Instagram-related libel case. Long story short, The Game’s children’s former nanny (Plaintiff Karen Monroe) sued him in July 2013, claiming defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress, after he accused her of neglecting his children and describing her as “a very dangerous baby sitter” on Instagram.
