(EXCLUSIVE) K. Michelle Settles Debt to Uncle Sam
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, reality star and singer K. Michelle (real name Kimberly Pate) finally settled the 52k beef with Uncle Sam, with the reality star paying off a massive tax debt that’s been hanging over her head — despite her claims she paid it off years ago.
Back in 2013, the IRS filed a federal tax lien against the singer – who became a break-out star on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta – accusing her of refusing to pay taxes for the years 2008 ($47,710.46) and 2009 ($4,704.63). The grand total of the tax debt came out to $52,415.09
The federal government explained if K. Michelle didn’t pay up they would begin the process of seizing her assets and property.
K. Michelle blasted the report of the tax lien by tweeting,
Damn Uncle Sam Why you wanna stick me 4 my paper??? Lol. Nice try Bloggers it’s already been settled. Strippers need tax breaks to
However, the IRS filed docs on January 26th, in Georgia telling a much different story than the singer claimed on Twitter.
Fast forward to the present day, Uncle Sam filed a release of the federal tax lien explaining that K.Michelle has paid up on the 52k debt she owed them.
Interesting to note, once someone pays off a tax lien it normally takes a couple months to have the IRS file the release, never years after the debt has been settled … which means the singer may have told the truth about having settled the debt back in 2013.
