Joseline Hernandez Snags Role in Lee Daniels ‘Star’
Congrats to Joseline Hernandez. The Love & Hip Hop Atlanta break-out star has snagged a role in Lee Daniels new Fox series, Star. The Puerto Rican princess confirms with VH1 that her new gig is with Daniels.
Yes, I did. I did something for FOX. I’ve worked [on] his new show, and it just got picked up.
Confirming Queen Latifah’s involvement, she adds,
Yes, it just got picked up. So that’s amazing so, yeah, you know you’ve got to do you. And be yourself and then people will really gravitate to you and then you won’t be here today and they vote your ass off the island next week.
As previously reported, Fox has snagged Stars for the 2016 — 2017 season. The network greenlit the Empire co-creator’s show with a 13-episode order. Contrary to reports, “Star” is not a spin-off of Fox’s hit show, Empire. According to Variety,
it follows three talented singers who navigate the cut-throat music business on their road to success. Newcomers Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady star as the young singers, alongside Queen Latifah and Benjamin Bratt. Announced on Wednesday, Lenny Kravitz will guest star. “Star,” co-created by Daniels and Tom Donaghy, will feature original music and stunning musical fantasy sequences.
Lee confirmed the news on Instagram, posting a clip with the cast.
No details about Joseline’s role have been released.
