Rick Ross Claims Self Defense In Assault Case [Thug Life]
Rick Ross (real name William Roberts) and his manager Nadrian James are asking for immunity from prosecution in an assault case, citing Georgia’s Stand Your Ground law. The pair appeared in court Wednesday, according to Channel 2 Action News.
They have been charged with assault, battery and kidnapping from an incident that took place June 2015. Both Ross and James are accused of assaulting an employee who threw a party at Ross’ estate in Fayetteville, which was previously owned by boxer Evander Holyfield.
Ross and James say the man wasn’t doing his job. James said a car was parked in the guesthouse driveway and no one was answering the door. James said in court:
I wanted to know what was going on and why he didn’t open the door after I was knocking for 10 minutes.
When James finally got inside, he says he saw a woman, a child, a shirtless man and another employee run out of the house. That’s when a fight broke out. James said he never saw Ross pull out a gun during the fight. No further details about the case have been released.
