Lil Wayne Apologizes For ‘Black Lives Matter’ Comments: I got agitated.
Lil Wayne is having second thoughts about the comments he made about the Black Lives Matter movement, during his interview on Nightline. On twitter, he wrote:
He has also since apologized, explaining his reaction. He says,
When the reporter began asking me questions about my daughter being labeled a b*tch and a hoe, I got agitated. From there, there was no thought put into her questions and my responses.
Wayne’s camp says that what aired was edited and his controversial comments were made shortly after the reporter questioned him about his daughter, Reginae Carter. Wayne adds,
Apologies to anyone who was offended.
As previously reported, Wayne explained his feelings on the Black Lives Matter movement, saying that he didn’t like giving incidents surrounding police violence a catch-all name:
That just sounds weird, I don’t know, that you put a name on it. It’s not a name, it’s not ‘whatever, whatever,’ it’s somebody got shot by a policeman for a f*cked up reason.
He added,
I am a young black rich motherfucker. If that don’t let you know that America understand black motherf*ckers matter these days, I don’t know what it is.
Pointing to the camera man, Wayne continued:
That man white; he filmin’ me. I’m a n*gga.
Growing a bit frustrated with the subjected, he stated,
I don’t know what you mean, man, don’t come at me with that dumb a** sh*t, ma’am. My life matter.
