The modern-day drama centers on a Harlem crime boss who is reunited with her oldest son — whom she thought was dead — after he returns to New York City to run for mayor. Being able to pass as white, he faked his death as a teenager and left New York in order to get a new start on life.
Goldberg will executive produce and possibly star in the series. She will also set to in a comedy pilot Delores and Jermaine for ABC. Her contract with The View will expire at the end of this season. No word if she will plan to do both shows at the same time.
In other news, Whoopi’s co host Candice Cameron Bure announced she was leaving the show this week. In late October, co-host Raven-Symone announced she was leaving the show to executive produce and star in a That’s So Raven reboot.
