Laurence Fishburne’s Daughter Montana Enters Plea of Not Guilty
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, Laurence Fishburne’s daughter Montana has headed to court to enter a plea of not guilty, over the 4 charges she was hit with by the States Attorney’s Office last month — in the case where she is facing up to a year in jail.
Here’s the latest: On April 13th, docs were filed showing Montana has lawyer-ed up and hired David A. Frankel to represent her. Montana entered a plea of not guilty on all charges of driving while intoxicated and causing property damage. She is also demanding the prosecutors hand over all witness names, police report, videos and reports of lab tests and results.
Here’s the backstory: Montana was arrested on March 11th when she allegedly crashed her car into a vehicle that had slowed down to avoid another accident.
The Florida Highway Patrol arrived and allegedly discovered an open bottle of wine in her Toyota Corolla. The report stated Montana had trouble staying still and made incoherent statements. The police took two breathalyzer tests and the results read 0.181 and 0.177, well over the legal limit. She was booked into Broward County Sheriff’s Officer Jail and bailed out on a $2,500 bond.
Last month, the State Attorney’s Office officially filed 4 counts against Montana. They include DUI (Injury/Property Damage) (Enhanced), DUI (Injury/Property Damage), DUI (Enhanced), Driving Under the Influence. The office filed enhanced charges due to the amount of property damage & due to the high B.A.C.
Florida law states if Montana is convicted of DUI with property damage she is facing up to a year in jail, her driver license being revoked, $1k fine, and substance abuse classes and 50 hours community service.
