Yara Shahidi Announces Which Ivy League She’s Attending
Yara Shahidi is ready to announce which Ivy League college she’ll be attending. The 17-year-old actress recently revealed:
I committed to Harvard and I’m really excited.
The black-ish actress continued,
I’m really excited because my AP calc teacher wrote me a recommendation letter. And I was the only student she wrote a recommendation letter for. And so I was very happy.
Yara also explained what fans can expect to see from her character Zoey on her new spin-off, college-ish.
Well, Zoey and I are very different people. And so I’m respecting that and I hope that we just see growth from her. There are moments when her inner Yara comes out and there are moments in which my inner Zoey comes out, but I really can’t promise anything
Freeform, Disney’s young adult television and streaming network, has ordered “college-ish” (working title) starring Yara as Zoey Johnson and Deon Cole as Charlie Telphy. Freeform has ordered 13 episodes of the half-hour, single-camera comedy which is set to premiere early 2018 on Freeform and the Freeform App available on connected TV, mobile devices and online. No additional details have yet been released.
