Tamron Hall Talk Show To Debut Next Year
According to reports, Tamron Hall’s new talk show will debut in 2018. The former Today show co-host and MSNBC anchor recently stated about her future show,
My birthday is in two days, and Harvey gave me a birthday gift very early — discussions about this show, a big vision and big ideas. I’ve been on TV for 25 years, since I was 18. Now, as I’m approaching 47, this is where I want to be and where I need to be. I’m just in the happiest place that I’ve been.
As previously reported, Hall has partnered with Weinstein Television for a show that would feature a mix of current events, human-interest stories and in-depth celebrity and newsmaker interviews. The daily series will be shot in front of a live studio audience. Hall will co-create and executive-produce, with former NBC Domestic Television Distribution president Barry Wallach. A title has not yet been released and no network is yet attached. Additionally, The Weinstein Company and Hall will work together on developing other non-scripted programming. Harvey Weinstein said in a statement,
I’ve been working towards developing a talk show for a long time, but needed to make sure I did it the right way and with the right person to take the lead. Tamron is far and away that person. She’s an exceptionally talented journalist whose interviews masterfully walk the line between entertainment and hard hitting. We couldn’t be more thrilled to begin this new venture with her.
Hall left Today in February, where she had co-anchored the morning show’s 9 a.m. hour for three years. Her departure was said to have been triggered by the addition of Megyn Kelly.
Hall sat next to her new boss Harvey Weinstein at designer’s Marchesa show during New York Fashion Week.
