Singer Monica Explains Why She Declined ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’
Monica Explains Why She Declined Real Housewives of Atlanta
Monica won’t be holding a peach anytime soon. The Atlanta-bred singer, who turned 37 this week, was said to have been offered to join the Real Housewives of Atlanta, via an invitation from Andy Cohen. However, she politely declined, explaining that she needs creative control and credit if she’d ever consider joining the non-scripted world. She says,
I would only join a show that I could be executive producer of because what my children see me do is important to me.
She continues,
I would only be on a show where I could see everything before it airs and be a full participant in what it means. Any my goal, if I ever were to do a television show, would be to help girls like myself or people from the communities that are similar to the world that I’m from.
While we won’t see her on reality TV, fans can watch her hit the road with Xscape this winter. The Great Xscape Tour kicks off Nov. 22 in Virgina and ends Jan.6 in LA.
