Nick Cannon Bothered By Mariah Carey’s Negative Press
Despite Nick Cannon no longer being married to ex wife Mariah Carey, he is still protective of her. The pair officially split in 2016 and share six-year-old twins. When asked if it bothers him to see negative press about the singer he shared,
Always, I feel like it’s unfair and the press can just mistreat someone for headlines because they spin the story the way they want to spin it. The people who are my loved ones, I’m always concerned for them.
Cannon added:
I’ll always stand up for anybody that’s being mistreated, misquoted.
The actor and comedian previously discussed his love for Carey explaining that maintaining their family will always be a priority to him.
That is always family — and when I say that, I say that to a level of I will always love her. That’s always my dream girl. Like, to me, just because we’re not intimate, I’m closer with her than probably I’ve ever been just based off of that’s my family, that’s the mother of my children.
He adds,
We talk every single day. We spend more time with the kids’ school, karate class, gymnastics class, like, it’s a full-time job. I wouldn’t want to mess up what we have right now trying to do something else.
Cannon also become a father again in February, when he welcomed son Golden “Sagon” Cannon, with Brittany Bell.
