’48 Hours’ Remake In The Works
A remake for ’48 Hours’ is in the works. The brothers filmmaking team Benny and Josh Safdie will producer the Paramount project. 48 Hrs. was a 1982 action comedy film starring Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy (in his film debut and Golden Globe Award-nominated role) as a cop and convict, respectively, who teamed up to catch two cop-killers, Albert Ganz and Billy Bear, played respectively by James Remar and Sonny Landham. The title refers to the amount of time they have to solve the crime.
Josh Safdie will write the script, along with Ronald Bronstein and Jerrod Carmichael, the comedian who starred in and co-created the NBC comedy The Carmichael Show. No additional details about the project have been released.
