Lauryn Hill Hit w/ Lawsuit by Trombone Player
Unfortunately, there’s more legal drama for Lauryn Hill. The 42-year-old singer, along with her touring manager and her touring company have been hit with a lawsuit. A trombone player named Matthew Hartnett says he played with Hill last summer for some live recording sessions. That work, let to him being hired to tour with her in the fall.
Hartnett says he billed them an industry standard rate for the sessions, and also signed a 10-week tour contract. However, he says he never got paid for either and was fired before the tour started.
Hartnett says he’s entitled to at least half his touring contract, along with an additional $4k for the studio sessions. He’s suing for $11,521.60 , along with damages.
