Snapchat – We’re Sorry For Making Fun Of Chris Brown & Rihanna’s Domestic Violence Incident
Snapchat is issuing a public apology. This week, they released an ad on their social media platform that featured Rihanna and Chris Brown. Users accused them of ‘making light’ of domestic violence. The ad was a game called ‘Would You Rather’ , in which they asked users to select a choice between slapping Rihanna and punching Chris Brown.
The ad was slammed for appearing “tone deaf” due to Brown’s conviction for assaulting Rihanna in his car in 2009 while the pair were in a relationship. Snapchat removed the ad and issued and apology.
The advert was reviewed and approved in error, as it violates our advertising guidelines. We immediately removed the ad last weekend, once we became aware. We are sorry that this happened.
