Drake Reveals ‘Scorpion’ Album Release Date, Possible Artwork
It has been an interesting few weeks for rap super star Drake. The Canadian icon has gone from seeing his “Nice For What” record top the charts, to fending off a vicious response from a Kanye West produced Pusha T. The dust has settled somewhat and it actually seems like Drake can sense it. He has not been as active on social media as of late, but now he is gradually coming back. As we reported, Drake real name Aubrey Drake Graham, just released a music video to his hit song “I’m Upset.”
The six minute presentation is directed by Karena Evans who also directed the music videos for “Nice For What” and “Gods Plan.” Drake returns to his days on the hit show Degrassi: The Next Generation where he played the character Jimmy Brooks. Last night, Drake has revealed more details about his highly anticipated album “Scorpion.” The follow-up to last year’s EP “More Life” is set to arrive June 29th.
After this brief pit-stop and rap battle, he seems to be getting back into album mode. He also shared some artwork, which could actually be the album cover. The”Best I Ever Had” rapper released his first project back in 2010 called ‘Thank Me Later.’ Drake has been on a roll since then, with a net worth of over $100 million dollars.
Ironically, West directed Drake’s first music video for the hit song, “Best I Ever Had.” Despite the recent controversies and events involving the pair and Pusha T, Drake has been revealed as a lyricist and composer on the Kanye’s song “Yikes.” There are a total of 11 credited lyricists on “Yikes,” including Mike Dean, Ayub Ogada, and James Mbarack Achieng. (“Yikes” samples the 1976 Black Savage song “Kothbiro.”) Pie’rre Bourne and Apex Martin have been newly credited as producers.
As we recently reported, Drake is scheduled to hit the road for a tour starting this summer called ‘Aubrey and the Three Amigos’ Tour. The 41-date North American tour starts July 26 in Salt Lake City and ends November 17 in Atlanta. Read more:
