LeBron James Signs w/ Lakers, Lands $154 Mill Contract for 4 Years
LeBron James is officially a Laker! According to multiple reports, he has agreed to a four-year contract worth more than $150 million with the Los Angeles Lakers.
It marks the third time in eight teams James will have changed teams via free agency, following his departure from the Cavaliers to the Heat in 2010 and his return back to the Cavs in 2014.
LeBron has played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Cleveland Cavaliers (2003–2010; 2014–2018) and Miami Heat (2010–2014). Often considered the best basketball player in the world and regarded by many as the greatest of all time,his NBA accomplishments are extensive, and include four NBA Most Valuable Player Awards, three NBA Finals MVP Awards, two Olympic gold medals, three All-Star Game MVP awards, an NBA scoring title, and is the all-time NBA playoffs scoring leader. He has also amassed fourteen NBA All-Star Game appearances, twelve All-NBA First Team designations, and five All-Defensive First Team honors.
As previously reported, James allegedly contacted Kevin Durant and asked him to join him in LA. Neither Durant nor James have addressed this particular rumor.
James has yet to comment.
