LeSean McCoy Hires Ray Lewis And Ben Roethlisberger’s Former Attorney In Wake Of Abuse Allegations
LeSean McCoy may be in the middle of some serious drama, but he’s doing everything he possibly can to maintain his professional football career.
The NFL free agent has hired high-profile attorney Don Samuel to represent him in the case against his ex-girlfriend Delicia Cordon, whom he is being accused of physically assaulting earlier this week.
Police responded to McCoy’s home last weekend after receiving a call of a home invasion. When they arrived, they found Cordon severely beaten and locked in a bathroom. According to reports, Cordon claims that the intruder asked for specific items from her. Cordon’s friends and family claim that LeSean McCoy has a history of abuse and is involved in Cordon’s attack. Cordon’s attorney Tanya Mitchell Graham echoes this sentiment.
Cordon returned from a trip to London on July 9, 2018. At approximately 3:00 a.m. on this morning, while she was sleeping in the residence that she shares with Mr. McCoy, Ms. Cordon was physically assaulted in the home by a male assailant who entered the home with no signs of forced entry. The assailant demanded specific items of jewelry that had been previously gifted to Ms. Cordon by Mr. McCoy, which Mr. McCoy had requested back on many occasions. In fact, after Ms. Cordon refused to return her jewelry gifts to Mr. McCoy, he would often suggest to Ms. Cordon that she could be robbed because the jewelry was expensive.
For his defense, McCoy has called upon one of Atlanta’s most elite attorneys. Don Samuel has a history of defending high profile clients, specifically in the NFL. Samuel represented Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger when he faced rape charges in 2010. Samuel was also part of the team that represented Ray Lewis amidst his double-homicide case in 2010.
In the meantime, McCoy, who is currently a free agent, is still on the market in search of a team.
