Naya Rivera Performs Song Big Sean Wrote Slamming Her

Naya Rivera is making headlines for shading Big Sean during her stint on Paramount Network’s hit show, Lip Sync Battle. The newly divorced mother took the stage to perform her ex-fiancée’s single, “I Don’t F*ck With You.” See the clip.

The song was released a year after Rivera and Sean broke off their engagement in 2014, and is suspected to be about her.

Rivera, 31 and Sean, 30 got engaged after dating for six months. The two reportedly met after exchanging DM’s on Twitter.

Why the two broke it off still hasn’t been explained in depth, but it was rumored to be because Sean was cheating on Rivera with Ariana Grande. Sean’s team denied the rumor, stating it was simply “untrue.” Another rumor suspected Sean was a jewelry thief, but Sean later came forward stating he bought the jewelry for himself after becoming successful. It was later revealed Sean called their wedding off due to Rivera being jealous of women he worked with and controlling.

Rivera has talked about their engagement in her memoir, “Sorry Not Sorry”, reflecting on how she found about their engagement,

I learned that I was no longer getting married from the Internet, and at the same time as the rest of the world.

During her Lip Sync Battle performance, Rivera can be seen prancing around the stage, mocking the lyrics to the catchy song, as the audience cheers the Glee star on. Judges and her opponent, Lil Rel Howery, reflected on her performance. After being asked what Rel thought of the performance, he explains,

You took me by surprise on that one. I was like awh!

While many could speculate Rivera’s song choice was either her just having fun, shade, or a call for attention, she is enjoying the single life.

Rivera’s divorce from her ex-husband, Ryan Dorsey was finalized in June 2018. The two were married for three years and share two-year old son named Josey, who they both have joint legal physical custody over.
