Aretha Franklin – Outfit Changes Planned For Funeral, Service Will Be Televised
Outfit Changes Planned For Aretha Franklin Funeral
Aretha Franklin‘s four-day celebration of life is underway. On Tuesday, the first day of Franklin’s public viewing took place at the Charles H. Wright Museum in Detroit. The Queen of Soul’s body was presented in a solid gold casket. She wore a long sleeve red dress and a pair of $775 red patent leather Christian Louboutin stiletto pumps.
Reportedly, there will be a few outfit changes during the 4-day long funeral. O’Neil Swanson II, the owner of Swanson Funeral Home, is handling Franklin’s services and said:
“She’s not going to be wearing the same outfit [each viewing day]. Wednesday, she’ll be wearing the red dress. On Thursday, she’ll be in a gold dress, and Friday, she’s wearing a gown.”
The legendary singer’s Friday funeral will be private, but will be made available for viewing live online and on TV. National broadcasters including HLN and the Word Network plan to air the lengthy funeral in its entirety. Nationally, Fox News, MSNBC and CNN plan to air portions of the service live, representatives of those networks confirmed.
The Queen of Soul’s funeral will start at 10 a.m. Friday at Greater Grace Temple in Detroit.
