Shaq & Shaunie’s Son Shareef O’Neal To Undergo Heart Surgery
Shaquille and Shaunie O’Neal’s 18-year-old son, Shareef O’Neal, has UCLA doctors to thank for saving his life. The college basketball star says doctors “found a medical issue dealing with my heart” when he went in for a routine checkup and though he doesn’t specify what the medical issue is, it’s severe enough that he’s going to need heart surgery. Unfortunately, that also means he’ll be missing the next season. However, Shareef remains optimistic. In a tweet to fans, he said:
Blessed to be here living today, one of those moments on the court could’ve been my last… I will be back basketball world .. just wait on me! I’ll miss you this year but you will always be with me.
In the meantime, Shareef will continue attending classes at UCLA while he rehabs. His goal is to return to the court in the 2019 season.
Check out Shareef doing his thing on the court.
