Cardi B gave a mini-public service announcement about the longest Government Shutdown in U.S. history Wednesday (Jan. 16) via an Instagram video. In the 1-minute clip, which attracted almost 2 million views, Cardi informed the public about Donald Trump’s recent order to Federal Government workers,

Hey y’all, I just wanna remind y’all ‘cause its been over a little three weeks, Trump is now ordering – as in summoning – Federal Government workers to go back to work, without getting paid. Now, I don’t want to hear y’all talk about, ‘Obama shutdown the Government for 17 days.’ YEAH, B*TCH! FOR HEALTHCARE! So ya grandma can check her blood pressure and you b*tches can go check ya pu**y at the Gynecologist with no motherfu*kin’ problem. Now, I know a lot of y’all don’t care cause y’all don’t work for the Government, y’all probably don’t even have a job, but this is sh*t is really fu*kin’ serious, bro. This sh*t is crazy. Our country, is in a hell hole right now. All for a fu*kin’ wall. And we really need to take this serious, I feel like we need to take some action, I don’t know what type of action, b*tch, because this not what I do, but b*tch I’m scared. This is crazy. On Wednesday, the White House released an statement stating the president had signed  Government Employee Fair Treatment Act of 2019, which

requires the compensation of government employees for wages lost, work performed, or leave used during a lapse in appropriations that begins on or after December 22, 2018, and entitles excepted employees to use leave during a lapse in appropriations.

Unfortunately, the workers won’t be paid until the Shutdown is over.
