In the days leading up to his death, Hussle had reached out to officials from the LAPD about having a meeting with him and Roc Nation about what they could do to help prevent gang violence in South Los Angeles. The meeting had been scheduled to take place on Monday April 1, 2019, but was scuttled due to Hussle’s untimely death Sunday the day before. According to Los Angeles Police Commissioner Steve Soboroff, the meeting will still take place at a yet to be announced date.
