Miami Dolphins Player Kendrick Norton Arm Amputated Following Serious Car Accident
Miami Dolphins defensive liner Kendrick Norton, who used to play for the University of Miami football team, was involved in a severe car accident in the early morning of Thursday (July 4th) that the press labels “career-ending”.
According to reports, he is in critical condition at the Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in Miami, but his injuries aren’t life-threatening at the moment.
The 22-year-old was involved in a multiple-car accident in which his vehicle rolled over. His left arm had to be amputated by paramedics at the scene in order to get him out of the vehicle.
His agent Malki Kawa tweeted out,
“With sadness, I can confirm that Kendrick Norton was in a car accident last night and suffered multiple injuries, including the amputation of his arm. We ask that you continue to pray for him. His family also asks that the public respect Kendrick’s privacy.”
The Miami Dolphins also released a statement saying,
“We were made aware this morning of a serious car accident involving Kendrick Norton. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kendrick and his family during this time.”
The Florida Highway Patrol says in their incident report that Norton’s 2017 Ford F250 rolled over onto its roof after a collision with a concrete barrier for reasons currently known.
Norton was selected in the 7th round of the 2018 NFL draft by the Carolina Panthers, spending most of the season on the practice squad. He was later signed to play with the Miami Dolphins but he didn’t get a chance to play in any NFL games last season.
We’re saddened by this story and will keep Norton in our prayers.
