Wesley Snipes Cast In Eddie Murphy’s “Coming to America” Sequel
Wesley Snipes has reportedly been cast in Eddie Murphy’s “Coming To America” sequel. The film will be produced by Murphy, Kenya Barris and Kevin Misher. The movie’s original co-star Arsenio Hall has signed on to reprise his role as Semmi, the BFF of Prince Akeem, played by Eddie Murphy.
Murphy will also return as the prince who wed to secure his kingdom in the 1988 original.

In the sequel, Prince Akeem is set to find out about his long-lost son and has to go back to America to meet the child, who’s now next in line to rule Zamunda.
Snipes will play a new character, General Izzi, a man who rules a neighboring nation.
The Jasmine Brand previously reported that production for the highly-anticipated film is already in the works.
Ruth E. Carter, who won an Oscar Award for her costume-design skills in Black Panther, will also be a part of the film.

Murphy confirmed the sequel in a statement earlier this year.
“After many years of anticipation, I’m thrilled that Coming to America 2 is officially moving forward. We’ve assembled a great team that will be led by Craig Brewer, who just did an amazing job on Dolemite, and I’m looking forward to bringing all these classic and beloved characters back to the big screen.”
Coming to America 2 has a working release date of December 2020.
