Jay-Z Accused Of Blaming Single Parent Homes For Police Brutality

Jay-Z can’t seem to catch a break lately. The mogul is on the heels of getting lots of criticism for his partnership with the NFL, as other celebrities boycott the league to protest against police brutality.

But now, a clip of Jay-Z that dates back to January has resurfaced and is making its rounds, and some fans are not happy about it.

In the footage, Jay-Z speaks on police brutality. He said,

“You think about the idea of growing up in a single-parent house, which I grew up and Meek [Mill] grew up in… and having an adverse feeling for authority, right? Your father’s gone. So you’re like, ‘I hate my dad. Can’t nobody tell me what to do. I’m the man of the house.’ And then you hit the street and you run into a police officer and his first thing is, ‘Put your hands up, freeze, shut up.’ And you’re like, excuse my language, and you’re like ‘f*** you.’ That interaction causes people to lose lives.”

It didn’t take long for some to express their anger with his statements on social media.
