Mac Miller’s Alleged Drug Dealer Arrested, Accused Of Selling Him Fake Oxycodone Pills & Could Face 20 Years In Jail
Almost a year after Mac Miller’s tragic passing, authorities have possibly found one man responsible. Cameron James Pettit, 28, of Hollywood Hills has officially been charged with a count of distribution of a controlled substance in relation to Miller’s death. According to a 42-page criminal report submitted to the Central District of California, Petit allegedly provided Miller with fake oxycodone pills that included fentanyl, after Miller allegedly requested to be given Percocet, a painkiller that has oxycodone.
This comes almost a year to the date after Miller was found unresponsive in his home on September 7 last year. While his passing was first determined an accident, it later came out that Miller died from an overdose of fentanyl, alcohol and cocaine.
Authorities looking into the case handed out search warrants at several locations and seized a plastic bag with pills that were reportedly provided by a prostitute and madam.
Petit is accused of giving Miller the fake oxycodone pills that included cocaine, fentanyl and Xanax just two days before he died.
The complaint also includes Instagram DMs between Petit and others who responded to Miller’s death. Petit allegedly said,
“I think I should probably not post anything… just to be smart.”
He also allegedly wrote in another text,
“I am not great…Most likely I will die in jail.”
Meanwhile, the DEA said it’s convinced that Miller died from the dose given by Petit, who could spend up to 20 years in federal prison if convicted.
U.S. Attorney Nick Hanna said,
“We are aggressively targeting drug dealers responsible for trafficking illicit fentanyl, which has become the most deadly facet of the opioid epidemic. We are committed to slowing the number of overdose deaths and prosecuting those responsible for spreading this most dangerous opioid.”
“Fentanyl disguised as a genuine pharmaceutical is a killer, which is being proven every day in America. Drugs laced with cheap and potent fentanyl are increasingly common, and we owe it to the victims and their families to aggressively target the drug dealers that cause these overdose deaths.”
