John Singleton’s legacy isn’t going anywhere!
The famed director, who tragically died back in April, is still making moves months after his shocking passing.
According to reports, Sony has agreed to hand over $515,472 to John Singleton’s company, New Deal Productions. The money is said to be connected to John Singleton’s classic Baby Boy film that was released in 2001 and starred Taraji P. Henson and Tyrese.
The movie brought in $29.3 million in the states and had a budget of roughly $16 million.
Before he passed, both sides reached a settlement agreement following Singleton’s petition for a formal audit of the profit the film made.
As of late, Singleton’s net worth was said to be up to $35 million.
Singleton’s fellow director Ava DuVernay also honored him with a John Singleton Marathon this weekend at her Amanda Theatre in L.A. See some of those moments below.
