EXCLUSIVE: SWV In Talks With Networks About New Biopic
theJasmineBRAND exclusively reports SWV is taking the next step in getting their biopic created. Sources tell us that the trio is currently talking to networks about the forthcoming project.
And the role of singer Cheryl “Coko” Gamble could already be filled by Sevyn Streeter, who insiders say has agreed to play the part.
Based on Coko’s Instagram, she’s all for it. She shared a photo of her and Sevyn recently and wrote,
“Me & my baby @sevyn … She has to play me in the SWV biopic! She looks so much like me”

News of an SWV biopic was first reported back in 2017. Coko said in a statement back then,
“We’re actually in talks [for] an SWV biopic, so stay tuned… There’s so much that people don’t know.”
Her groupmate Leanne “Lelee” Lyons said there was lots of interest around it.
“Everyone’s interested.”
The biopic will come five years after their WeTV reality show “SWV: Reunited: documented them getting back together after years apart. The show lasted for two seasons and ended in February 2015.
The group hails from New York City and while they started as a gospel trio, they later transformed into one of the biggest R&B groups to date.
They took over the 90s before breaking up in 1998 to go their separate ways. They later came back together in 2005. They’ve sold at least 25 million records thanks to hits like “I’m So Into You,” “Right Here/Human Nature” and “Weak.”
