Simon Cowell’s Production Company Releases Statement After Gabrielle Union’s “America’s Got Talent” Firing: We’re Working With Ms. Union To Hear More About Her Concerns
Simon Cowell’s production company has broken its silence on Gabrielle Union’s controversial firing from NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.”
Syco Entertainment, the company that produces the talent competition series, released a statement along with NBC and Fremantle Sunday (Dec. 1), after reports said Gabrielle Union was let go because she protested a toxic work environment on the set. She was also allegedly told that her hairstyles were “too black” for the series.
The statement reads,
“We remain committed to ensuring a respectful workplace for all employees and take very seriously any questions about workplace culture. We are working with Ms. Union through her representatives to hear more about her concerns, following which we will take whatever next steps may be appropriate.”
It comes after a detailed report from Variety revealed alleged issues that went on behind-the-scenes. Read about that here.
In the meantime, her husband retired NBA star Dwyane Wade, expressed his shock after the firing as well.

Celebrities like Ellen Pompeo of “Grey’s Anatomy”, Ariana Grande, and Jemele Hill also stood by Gabrielle Union.
