Kandi Burruss Says “I Don’t Know What To Do” As Drama Between Mama Joyce & Todd Tucker Reignites [VIDEO]
The mother of Grammy-award winning songwriter, singer and star of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”, Kandi Burruss, is back at it.
In a sneak peek of Sunday’s (Feb. 9) episode of “RHOA”, Kandi Burruss tells her husband Todd Tucker that her mother, affectionately known as Mama Joyce, wanted to put Kandi Burruss’s daughter, Riley Burruss, as her beneficiary.
“She was like, ‘I’m gonna put Riley as my beneficiary, and then I’ll put you after Riley cause I’m sure Riley’s gonna make sure her little sister and brother will be still taking care of.’ Like, as if you want to make sure Riley’s good or something.”
Todd Tucker and Kandi Burruss have two children, Blaze and Ace, together. Todd Tucker is also father to Kaela from a previous relationship.
Tucker questioned if Mama Joyce really said that, and Kandi confirmed. Tucker, who is Riley Burruss’ stepfather, was clearly bothered and asked,
“She don’t think I would make sure Riley was okay?”
Kandi responded,
“Basically she didn’t want to leave it up to you… You do have to prepare for anthing and those conversations are the hard conversations for people to have.”
She reminded Tucker that they went back and forth as they disagreed over a prenup before they got married.
Tucker said,
“It didn’t have to be as hard as it was.”
Kandi later told cameras,
“My mother and Todd have unfortunately had a long, negative history.”
The show then went to a flashback where Mama Joyce accused Tucker of being an opportunist, and another instance when she suggested Tucker was a lemon that Kandi made lemonade out of.
In the present day, Kandi said she thought all was well after she and Tucker tied the knot. But things have been up and down with Mama Joyce and her son-in-law since then.
Kandi said,
“I don’t know what happened. It’s like things have started to go backwards again. And I don’t know what to do.”
Tucker said he thinks Mama Joyce is “more concerned about herself” when it comes to putting her granddaughter down as a beneficiary.
Kandi also revealed to Tucker,
“She also talked about not wanting my name to be on her house, so if something happens then she don’t have to deal with you.”
