Pop Smoke — Police Reportedly Have Trouble Finding Witnesses Amid Investigation Of Rapper’s Murder
It’s been a little more than a week since Pop Smoke was tragically shot and killed, but authorities are reportedly having a difficult time finding out exactly what happened.
According to TMZ Saturday (Feb. 29), police have yet to be successful in finding a viable witness. The ones that have come forward have switched up their accounts of what happened or could be lying altogether. There was no one outside or even close to the home where Pop Smoke was fatally shot, (which was rented from “The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills” star Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave) making it even more difficult to gather witnesses.
Police also reached a dead end when they looked at footage online that said it was of the incident but ended up having no connection. It also doesn’t help that Pop Smoke lived in New York City, but was murdered in Los Angeles. So authorities also have to use additional resources to wrap up the investigation.

While initial reports said Pop Smoke was the victim of an armed murder, it was also reported that his killing was gang-related.
His family released a statement on the tragedy Friday (Feb. 28).
“The family of Bashar ‘Pop Smoke’ Jackson would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone for your support. Every prayer, call, and act of kindness is deeply appreciated as we mourn the loss of our son, brother and friend. Brooklyn knew him as Bashar. He was educated and nurtured in Brooklyn and his rise to fame all developed from the place he proudly represented.”

“Within the last year, his extraordinary giftedness was revealed to the world, introducing Pop Smoke. Unfortunately, there are no public details available regarding the murder of our loved one. We ask for respect and responsible reporting during this critical time. Inaccurate reports only add unnecessary pain to a grieving family.”
His brother also denied having any involvement.

Continued prayers for the family, friends and loved ones of Pop Smoke!
