Kendrick Lamar Announces Mysterious ‘pgLang’ Project
Grammy award winning artist, Kendrick Lamar, 32, has made his returned to social media on Thursday (Mar. 5), sharing with his nearly 10 million followers a mysterious announcement. The Compton native reveals he’s launching a mysterious project called pgLang. According to reports, pglang is described as a multilingual, artist-friendly service company alongside his manager Dave Free that’s a record label, movie studio and publishing house combined. From their website, Lamar’s project says,
“Our community speaks different languages, breaks formats and for the curious.”
The website also describes Lamar’s new business venture,
“We are creators”
Lamar shared three photos via Instagram on Thursday that shows the company’s different pgLang logos.

In addition, pgLang introduces a visual mission statement found on the website written by Lamar’s cousin Baby Keem and Grown-ish actress Yara Shahidi.
Keem is the first artist to partner with pgLang, and he hopes to push the envelope further with his “astronaut ideas.”
“That is what I call the sh– that I know I want but that stand alone. You know? Like, not everything has to ‘make sense’ to me in a rational way. This is how my mind stays fresh, by letting myself have my astronaut ideas and developing them even though it might confuse anyone else.”
A simple click on that statement causes hidden portions of the text to be briefly unveiled, adding even more content to the launch. The revealed hidden text lists music, film, television, art, books, and podcasts as methods of communication. The company is described further as aiming to,
“build stories that are equally accessible and engaging, then fitting them within the best media.”
