D.C. Sniper Lee Boyd Malvo Ties The Knot In Prison!
Lee Boyd Malvo, better known as the infamous “D.C. Sniper,” could be the poster child for WeTV’s “Love After Lock-Up.” The 35-year-old was arrested at the age of 17 for murdering 10 people in the Washington, D.C. area in 2002, and recently jumped the broom in a private ceremony at Virginia’s Red Onion State Prison. His adviser Carmeta Albarus told Fox News that Lee Boyd Malvo has turned his life around since entering prison:
“Over the past 17 years, he has grown despite his conditions of confinement.”
She continued:
“He has grown into an adult, and has found love with a wonderful young lady…It was a beautiful ceremony.”
However, there will be no honeymooning for Lee Boyd Malvo and his bride, whose identity hasn’t been revealed, thanks to Virginia laws. The state’s prison marriages are strictly regulated. One of the guidelines reads:
“[Weddings involving prisoners] shall not result in the granting of any special privileges for the consummation of the marriage following the ceremony or thereafter.”
Oop! Lee Boyd Malvo was sentenced to life in prison, and although Virginia state laws changed to allow offenders under 17 at the time of their crime to be eligible for parole after 20 years – he was also served a life sentence in Maryland. His sniper spree partner, John Allen Muhammad, was more than 10 years ago.
