DaBaby — Woman Who Was Allegedly Slapped By Rapper Tells Her Side Of The Story, Says She Has A Cheekbone Contusion

DaBaby‘s hands have caused him to have a new legal issue on his hands. This past weekend, the rapper was caught on camera allegedly physically assaulting a woman in a club – claiming she hit him in the eye with her phone. The footage quickly went viral.

DaBaby (real name, Jonathan Kirk) later offered $10,000 to anyone with clear footage of the incident.

He quickly changed his tune, though – posting an apology to the woman on Instagram.

But the woman on the receiving end, Tyronesha Laws, offered her side of the story to TMZ. She’s secured her own lawyer and says she wasn’t even the woman who he intended to hit. Tyronesha detailed the incident:

“I was standing next to a young lady, and I turn around I says to my boyfriend, ‘There go DaBaby. He’s coming through.’ So the young lady standing to the right of me, she pulled out her camera. She had on a blue long-sleeved. And I see her put her flash on on her phone, and reach up. I’m not for sure if she hit him with the phone…and all of a sudden, he smacks me. And when he smacks me, I fall down onto her.”

She says she did sustain an injury from DaBaby’s forceful slap:

“I woke up [and] my head was hurting really, really bad, and the top of my right cheekbone? It was, like, hurt and tender. So, I did go to the hospital. I was diagnosed with a contusion to my cheekbone.”

Tyronesha Laws says DaBaby’s apology isn’t sincere, and she and her child are dealing with the effects of going viral:

“He still makes a joke about it. Yesterday he uploaded something about it on his page in a clothing store- making a joke about it. So I don’t feel like he was sincere with the apology. I was embarrassed. I got people calling me, writing me on Instagram through fake pages. People seeing me at my job saying, ‘Oh, you’re the girl that got slapped.’ It’s embarrassing. My daughter waking up in the middle of the night crying overhearing me on the phone with my lawyer talking about the situation. It’s hateful.”

Tyronesha’s lawyer, Matt Morgan, has been in contact with DaBaby’s legal team.
