Whoopi Goldberg To Bernie Sanders: Why Are You Still In The Race? [VIDEO]
Whoopi Goldberg Presses Sen. Sanders On Why He Is Still In The Race?
Whoopi Goldberg is trying to figure out what some Democrats may or may not be wondering,”Why hasn’t Bernie Sanders dropped out of the race?” On Wednesday (April 1st), She asked this very question on “The View” and things got pretty heated. See their exchange below.
Whoopi: There’s a path to victory and I want to know what that path is because this feels a little bit like it did when you didn’t come out when Hillary Clinton was clearly the person folks where going for? So can you explain why you’re still in the race and the path you see?
Bernie: One of the reasons, that’s not quite accurate. I worked as hard as I could for Hillary Clinton but the reason….
Whoopi: Just so we’re clear you worked for Hillary but it took you a vey, very, very long time to hop in and your people it took them a very long time to hop in…So when I say that, that’s what I’m talking about.
Bernie: I don’t accept that characterization but the point is people have a right…
Whoopi: Why are you still in the race?
Bernie: Last I heard people had a democracy and have the right to vote and have the right to vote for the agenda that they think can work for America especially in this very, very difficult moment. We are assessing our campaign. Matter fact where we want to go forward. But people in a democracy do have a right to vote, and right now in this unprecedented moment in American history I think we need to have a very serious discussion about how we go forward and one of the things I’m working on with other members of the Senate and Congress is a new stimulus package which not only makes all of our people in this crisis have healthcare, but also so they can continue receiving their paycheck – we’ve got to understand where we are at and right now is April 1st. It is likely possible there are millions of people that can not pay their rent, cannot pay their mortgage.
Whoopi: Wouldn’t it be smarter for you to continue on that path to make sure that gets done?
Bernie: Well, we’re doing it.
See the clip.
Sen. @BernieSanders when asked why he’s staying in the race: “Last I heard, people in a democracy have a right to vote, and they have a right to vote for the agenda that they think can work for America.”
“We are assessing our campaign,” he adds. https://t.co/9EgCsAUT3q pic.twitter.com/voCGRgMRm5

According to reports, former Vice President Joe Biden has more delegates than Senator Bernie Sanders. In the beginning of the race, Sanders was on top until voters came out in February and put Biden on top. Sanders has been struggling in the polls since then. Now, there’s pressure for Sanders to drop out of the race and give his support to Biden.
Do you think Bernie should drop out of the race? Let us know in the comments.
