The official reviews are in and it appears that the latest Lifetime biopic, The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel, was a hit. According to Nielsen, the film, which premiered on Saturday (April 11th), pulled in a total of 2.7 million viewers, making it the highest-rated original movie for the network since 2016.
The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel is about the gospel singers The Clark Sisters and their career highs and lows. It’s a star-filled production both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. The film was co-produced by Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige, and Missy Elliott. The Clark Sisters are played by Christina Bell, Kierra Sheard, Sheléa Frazier, Raven Goodwin, and Angela Birchett.
In addition to having a successful premiere night on television, the movie also sparked a large discussion on social media bringing in more than 700,000 interactions for #TheClarkSisters hashtag.
