Walmart To Stop Selling ‘All Lives Matter’ Merchandise, Will Still Sell Other Products Like ‘Blue Lives Matter’ Tees

Walmart is making a move to stand against racial inequality. The nation’s largest retailer has decided to stop selling ‘All Lives Matter’ merchandise citing in a statement,

“We fundamentally believe all lives do matter and every individual deserves respect.” 

It continued,

“However, as we listened, we came to understand that the way some, but not all, people are using the phrase ‘All Lives Matter’ in the current environment intentionally minimized the focus on the painful reality of racial inequity.”

Walmart will, however, continue selling other ‘Lives Matter’ merchandise, like Blue Lives Matter to represent police lives.

Walmart has faced scrutiny recently from customers who called out the retailer for locking up ethnic hair care products.

Addressing the allegations in 2018, a Walmart spokesperson stated,

“We’re sensitive to this situation and also understand, like other retailers, that some products such as electronics, automotive, cosmetics and other personal care products are subject to additional security. Those determinations are made on a store-by-store basis using data supporting the need for the heightened measures.”

Things came to a head when in 2020, the company vowed to stop putting ‘multicultural products’ in locked containers, after a video reposted by reporter Tori Mason went viral, showing much of the same claims as previous customers.

“This Walmart is in the heart of Montbello. There are black and brown people all over the place. The message is clear: We don’t trust you.”

A customer says the retailer is discriminating against people of color, locking only multicultural products behind glass.

Walmart reached out to Tori Mason after the video was released with an email that outlined the company’s promise to stop locking up the products.
