Kanye West Says Harriet Tubman ‘Never Actually Freed The Slaves’ Cries While Discussing Abortion “I Almost Killed My Daughter”
Kanye West is making headlines for some of the remarks he made on On Sunday, July 20th, during his first-ever campaign rally. The 41-year-old artist spoke to an intimate audience, wearing a bullet-proof vest. One of the most discussed moments of his speech were his comments about Harriet Tubman. At one point, he stated:
“Harriet Tubman never actually freed the slaves, she just had the slaves go work for other white people.”
During a separate part of his speech, Kanye West became emotional as he discussed abortion and birth control noting that he’s opposed to birth control and the morning after pill. He also shared that his dad wanted his late mother to have an abortion when she was pregnant by him.
Kanye became even more personal about his pro-life stance claiming that when his wife Kim Kardashian was pregnant with their daughter North they discussed her taking the pill to end the pregnancy. In between tears he says,
I almost killed my daughter.
He said that even if Kim left him after this speech, she still brought their daughter North into this world.
