Ex Seattle Seahawks Player Kemah Siverand Apologizes For Attempting To Sneak Woman Into Team’s Hotel
Update #2 (Aug. 26th): Kemah Siverand, who was cut from the Seattle Seahawks after he tried to sneak a woman into the team’s hotel, has issued an apology.
He wrote on social media:
“After taking time to reflect and really consider the seriousness of my actions, I have tried to find the appropriate words to apologize to all of those affected by my poor decision and immaturity. I’ve privately apologized to Coach [Pete] Carroll, [general manager] John Schneider, and the Seahawks organization.”
He continued,
“I violated team rules, which would have been unacceptable in normal times, but absolutely inexcusable now during a pandemic. I understand my lapse in judgment not only put myself at risk, but also my teammates and the organization at risk, thankfully no one else was affected by my actions.”
He added:
“I want everyone to know that I am truly sorry, hold myself accountable, and am ready to move forward. I want to make sure this one mistake will not define me, and I will continue training harder than ever to continue pursuing my dreams of playing in the National Football League.”
He also wrote the caption:
“I made a mistake, let people down, and am truly sorry. Thank you to everyone that reached out to offer support.”

He reportedly penned a handwritten letter to the Seahawks as well.
Original Story (Aug. 14th): Seattle Seahawks rookie cornerback Kemah Siverand has been waived from the team earlier this week, according to ESPN sources. The Seahawks waived Kemah Siverand after he was allegedly caught on video trying to sneak a woman into the team’s hotel.
The NFL Network first reported the details of Kemah’s release, citing that the 23 year old cornerback tried to sneak the woman into the hotel while she was wearing Seahawks gear in an attempt to disguise herself as a player.
NFL teams are under strict orders not to engage in any kind of activities that could allow an outbreak of COVID-19. Players who break the rules are subject to discipline, and in Kemah Siverand’s case it resulted in him losing his job. Players have been urged to avoid contact with non family members and other outsiders during training camp.
So far, the Seahawks have only placed one player on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Coach Pete Carroll confirmed on Wednesday (August 12) that it was the result of a false positive test given to wide receiver John Ursua. He has since been removed from the reserve list.
Kemah went undrafted in this year’s NFL draft and played at Oklahoma State. He received a $2,000 signing bonus from the Seahawks, which was tied for the third smallest bonus among the team’s 17 undrafted free agents. Kemah’s agent declined to comment on his client being waived.
