Breonna Taylor Billboard Vandalized With Red Paint Resembling Bullet Wound
One of twenty-six billboards erected by Oprah Winfrey in honor of demanding justice for Breonna Taylor, has been vandalized in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.
According to CBS Louisville affiliate WLKY-TV, the vandalization features red paint splattered across the forehead of Breonna Taylor, resembling a gunshot wound.

The twenty-six billboards, that represent each year that Breonna Taylor lived, are a part of Oprah Winfrey’s campaign, demanding that the police involved in the killing of Taylor be arrested and charged with her murder.
The billboards direct passerby to visit untilfreedom.com, an intersectional social justice organization rooted in the leadership of diverse people of color to address systemic and racial injustice, according to its website.

The social justice organization, largely dedicated to Breonna Taylor, was co-founded by activist, Tamika Mallory who was released from jail after being arrested during a peaceful protest for justice for Taylor, outside the home of Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron.

Oprah’s O Magazine recently sent a compelling message by featuring Breonna Taylor’s photo on its upcoming September 2020 cover, replacing Oprah Winfrey for the first time in the publication’s history. The announcement was made on the publication’s Instagram page.
“For the first time in 20 years, @oprah has given up her O Magazine cover to honor Breonna Taylor. She says, “Breonna Taylor. She was just like you. And like everyone who dies unexpectedly, she had plans. Plans for a future filled with responsibility and work and friends and laughter. Imagine if three unidentified men burst into your home while you were sleeping. And your partner fired a gun to protect you. And then mayhem. What I know for sure: We can’t be silent. We have to use whatever megaphone we have to cry for justice. And that is why Breonna Taylor is on the cover of O magazine. I cry for justice in her name.” Tap the link in our bio to read more about Oprah’s tribute to Breonna—and her recent conversation with her mother, Tamika Palmer.
