Actress Marsai Martin Developing New Unscripted Series Focusing On Trailblazing Black Women
Without a doubt, 16-year-old actress Marsai Martin has proven to be a young heavy hitter in the ever-changing entertainment business and seems to be on a similar trailblazing path as the Black women she wants to focus her newest project on.
The actress and producer, who also recently landed her own talk show, is currently developing an unscripted series, tentatively named Baddies, focused on the stories of trailblazing Black women with ITV America’s Sirens Media, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Marsai Martin, who became widely known as the youngest person to executive a major film (“Little”) in 2016, says of the project:
“Black women have always contributed to American culture. They’ve just never gotten the recognition. This show is a fun way of letting people know how dope we are.”
Reportedly, Baddies will be executive produced by Marsai Martin, Joshua and Carol Martin, Nicole Dow and Prince Baggett for Genius Entertainment, while Sirens president, Jessica Sebastian-Dayeh will executive produce for Sirens Media.
Jessica Sebastian-Dayeh spoke about Marsai, stating:
“Our team continues to be blown away by Marsai on multiple levels. She’s a creative force of nature and an important voice in our culture, and aside from her obvious talents on camera, is a very deft and thoughtful executive behind the scenes.”
She continued:
“We’re proud to partner with her and Genius on this series that will shed light on vital stories in imaginative and unexpected fashion.”
