Democrat Joe Biden is now leading President Donald Trump in the battleground state of Georgia, according to the Associated Press.
By Friday morning (Nov. 6th), the former Vice President surpassed the president in the number of ballots counted in the battleground, a must-win state for Trump that has long been a Republican stronghold. Reportedly, Biden now has a 917-vote advantage.
Thousands of ballots are still left to be counted — many in counties where the former vice president was in the lead.
Meanwhile, John Legend (who is a Democrat and outspoken Trump critic) took to social media, giving a soulful rendition of “Georgia On My Mind”.
“Georgia on My Mind” was written in 1930 by Hoagy Carmichael and Stuart Gorrell and first recorded that year by Hoagy Carmichael. It has often been associated with Ray Charles, a native of the U.S. state of Georgia, who recorded it for his 1960 album The Genius Hits the Road.
