Alicia Keys Makes The World A Better Place, Literally

This week in community dopeness, Alicia Keys went back to her alma mater, Professional Performing Arts High School, yesterday to launch her newest community initiative called “World of Betters”. “World of Betters” is a campaign that Keys partnered with Western Union to create. The campaign will ultimately allow individuals to realize their dreams to make the world a better place (Someone please cue —> Heal the world….make it a better place….)

The way the campaign works is, people are encouraged to submit their ideas on how they would make the world a better place if they had $1,000. Then, the best 500 ideas will be chosen by the public and after that a panel of judges will select 100 lucky people to receive $1,000 cash to fulfill their dream and promise.
In the spirit of giving back, Keys launched the campaign at her New York City alma mater and also donated instruments and other music equipment to the school in honor of the program’s first day. Keys is not new to the humanitarian scene. For years, she has single-handedly been fighting HIV/AIDS in Africa and India with her Keep a Child Alive organization. Alicia Keys is just full of community dopeness.
