Mike Tyson Says He Smoked Marijuana Before Fight vs. Roy Jones Jr.: ‘It’s Just Who I Am’
Mike Tyson says that before making his official return to the ring, he smoked marijuana.
As you know, the 54-year-old former boxing champion fought Roy Jones Jr. Saturday night and he shared that before fighting, he smoked weed. During his post fight press conference he was asked whether or not he did and he responded:
“Absolutely, yes”.
He explained,
“Listen, I can’t stop smoking. I smoked during fights. I just have to smoke, I’m sorry. I’m a smoker. … I smoke everyday. I never stopped smoking.”
Mike Tyson explains that marijuana doesn’t have a negative affect on him.
“It’s just who I am. It has no effect on me from a negative standpoint. It’s just what I do and how I am and how I’m going to die. There’s no explanation. There’s no beginning, there’s no end.”
When asked if marijuana helps numb the pain he responds,
“No, it just numbs me. It doesn’t numb the pain.”
