Lil Wayne Pleads Guilty in Federal Gun Case
Today (Dec. 11th), Lil Wayne (real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.) appeared in Miami Federal Court over his weapons-possession charge, telling the judge:
“Your honor, I plead guilty”
The 38-year-old rapper was charged in November 2020. As previously reported, last December (2019) in Miami, his private plan was searched by FBI agents. After getting a search warrant, they are said to have found drugs (cocaine, ecstacy, etc.) and a handgun (Remington 1911, .45-caliber handgun) loaded with six rounds of ammunition.
Lil Wayne faces up to ten years in prison, however – prosecutors will recommend a shorter sentence under a plea deal. He is out on bond and his sentencing is early next year.
