Jerry Harris Of Netflix’s ‘Cheer’ Pleads Not Guilty To 7 New Charges In Child Pornography Case

Update #2 (Dec. 18th): Jerry Harris has entered a not-guilty plea in the seven new charges against him in relation to a child pornography case.

He is currently facing four counts of sexual exploitation of children, one count of enticement, one count of receipt of child pornography, and one count of travel with the intent to engage in illicit sexual contact with a minor.

All four of the sexual exploitation counts come with a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years, should Jerry Harris be found guilty. At the same time, the enticement charge requires at least 10 years in prison, and the receipt of child pornography has a five-year sentence minimum.

Original Story (Dec. 12th): More information is coming out about the allegations and charges against Netflix’s Cheer star Jerry Harris. 

As previously reported, he was arrested and charged for child pornography in September after 14-year-old twin brothers, Charlie and Sam said Jerry Harris allegedly started harassing them when they were 13 and he was 19. The alleged incidents, which took place for more than a year, happened online and in person at cheer events.

He’s also accused of targeting as many as 10 underage boys and sexually assaulting one 15-year-old in a bathroom at a public event, reportedly

“attended by other adults in the cheer community.”

Now, prosecutors have added seven new charges to the ones against him: receiving and attempting to receive child pornography and four counts of using, persuading, inducing, and enticing a minor “to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of such conduct.” Those incidents are said to have happened in Naperville, Illinois, and Corsicana, Texas.

He’s also being charged for one count of using the internet in Orlando, Florida, to allegedly “persuade, induce, and entice” one of the minors to engage in sexual activity, according to USA Today. 

He has already been denied his request for a pretrial release as the court ruled that if he were freed

“there is no condition or combination of conditions to reasonably assure the safety of the community.”

He could get between 15 and 30 years behind bars if he’s convicted.
