Jamie Foxx, Kevin Hart & Halle Berry Team Up For Docu Celebrating Black Hollywood
A few of our favorite Hollywood A-listers are teaming up for a new docu. The project is called “Number One on the Call Sheet” and it focuses on celebrating Black achievements in Hollywood and all that it takes for Black actors and actresses to be successful in the industry. The project will include film industry veterans Angela Bassett, Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, Kevin Hart, Dan Cohan and Datari Turner.
The first part of the documentary entitled “Number One on the Call Sheet: Black Leading Women in Hollywood” will focus primarily on the groundbreaking work of black actresses. This part is executive produced by Angela Bassett and Halle Berry and will be directed by Shola Lynch.
The second part of the documentary will focus on the achievements of black actors while also highlighting the stories and experiences of those who paved the way for today’s superstars. It is entitled “Number One on the Call Sheet: Black Leading Men in Hollywood” is produced by Jamie Foxx and Kevin Hart and is directed by Reginald Hudlin.
Oftentimes the accomplishments of Black Hollywood gets overlooked due to the constant white washing of the industry. However, as the current climate of the entertainment industry is being challenged, we are beginning to see changes in establishing measures geared towards equality and are seeing more projects focused on highlighting everything about black culture straight from the minds of black creatives.
Although Apple has not released an official date for the documentary, they announce that it will debut globally on Apple TV alongside other originally developed films and documentaries like “Boy’s State”, “Beastie Boys Story” and “The Banker” which were Grammy nominated and Critics Choice Award winning projects.
