Tiger Woods Doesn’t Think He’s The ‘GOAT’: I’m Not There Yet
Tiger Woods might be one of the greatest in his sport, but he’s not ready to be dubbed the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) yet.
During Golf Digest’s miniseries A Round with Tiger: Celebrity Lessons that aired Tuesday (July 27th), guest Dwyane Wade asked Tiger Woods how he felt about being named the GOAT.
Tiger Woods laughed and clarified,
“I’m not the GOAT.”
Dwyane Wade responded,
“Right, see there we go. Let’s get to that. Certain people will say, ‘The GOAT! The Greatest of All Time!’ And you will say, ‘Well, I’m not because of…’ you have your reasons.”
Tiger, 45, explained,
“No, I’m not there yet.”
The retired NBA star asked Tiger when will he think he’s arrived, adding, “When you’re done?”
Tiger, who has won the PGA Tour 82 times, continuously told Dwyane,
“I’m not done.”

The four-part special was filmed in February, just one day before Tiger got into a life-threatening single car crash in Rancho Palos Verdes. The Los Angeles County Sheriff determined that speed played a factor, but did not cite the golf all-star because there were “no signs of impairment.”
He spoke on his injuries with Golf Digest in May and said recovery is “an entirely different animal” than injuries he’s previously suffered.
He added,
“I understand more of the rehab processes because of my past injuries, but this was more painful than anything I have ever experienced.”
While he questioned his GOAT status just before the collision, when speaking on the accident with Golf Digest he refused to answer if he would play again.
