Simon Cowell’s ‘The X Factor’ Canceled After 17 Years On-Air
The popular TV series ‘The X Factor’ has been canceled after being on air for 17 years. The ‘X Factor’ was created by Simon Cowell and was a British reality television music competition show for singers that initially premiered in 2004. At the start of last year, it was announced that the show would be taking a break during the pandemic but would return in 2021. However, it looks like the series won’t be coming back after all. Recently a spokesperson for the U.K. broadcaster ITV revealed to Variety that ‘The X Factor’ will not be returning for another season. They shared,
“There are no current plans for the next series of ‘The X Factor’ at this stage.”
‘The X Factor’ is responsible for launching the careers of many big-named groups and celebrities. One Direction, Little Mix, Leona Lewis and Olly Murs all got their start on the show.
